In its original print, back in the early seventies, this was the first fishing book I ever owned. It is the book that taught me all of the basic skills of fishing and I have never forgotten them to this day. Although first published over thirty years ago, much of the content is still very relevant today.

The book takes you on a fishing trip with Peter and his father for each freshwater species. It sums up the simplicity of fishing in the days before bit alarms and bivvies. With its beautiful line drawings and wonderful descriptions, it is a book which every angler should have on their book shelves.
